Why I built RALPH

It started with a simple frustration.

As a clinician, I was constantly asking colleagues or searching for information that should have been easy to find.

“Do you know which room is free?”
“Can this nurse review a child under one with asthma?”
“Who's on leave today?”
“How do I refer to this clinic?”

Each question seems small, but together they cost the whole practice time and create unnecessary interruptions. I built RALPH to make those everyday answers easy to find, so everyone can spend less time searching and more time caring for patients.

Planning the core workflows, understanding practice needs and embedding clinical risk management and integrations with relevant software into RALPH's development.

Built the first working version of RALPH, bringing everyday practice management tools together in one place.

Testing RALPH in a real GP practice, gathering feedback and refining features around day-to-day workflows.

About the founder

Dr Miriam Carone

I am a GP registrar working part-time at a GP surgery within the North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB). I graduated from Queen Mary University in 2019, and have been working as a clinician ever since.

Outside clinical work, I dedicate my spare time to creative projects I am passionate about, including RALPH and personal-use software.

Alongside this, I am interested in opportunities to help shape the future of the NHS and build innovative clinical software, combining frontline experience with hands-on product design and development.
